When whale swallowed Hazrat yunus ( A. S ), he started Istaghfar and saying dua that is Ayat e karima, we all know , then Allah Exalted caused yunus to recover and forgave him .Allah told Hazrat yunus ( A . S ) that if it had not been for his praying to Him , he would have stayed in the whale’s stomach till the Day of Judgement. Say Ayat e karima in your duas as much as you can without any counting.
Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal is considered as a renowned scholar of Islam and a famous theologian . He is often referred to as the “ sheikh ul islam” or the “ Imam of Ahl al - sunnah .”
During his old age , while he was travelling somewhere he stopped by a town .After the prayers , he wanted to stay for the night in the mosque yard because he didn’t know anyone in the town . owing to his humility , he didn’t introduce himself to anyone thinking that if he did , he would be welcomed by many people. Failing to recognize Ahmad Bin Hanbal , the caretaker of the mosque refused to let him stay in the mosque. As Imam Ahmad was quiet old, the caretaker had to drag him out of the mosque . On seeing this , a baker from a nearby place felt pity for this man and offered to be the host to him for the night. During his stay with the baker , Imam Hanbal observed that the baker would constantly recite Istighfar. Imam Hanbal asked the baker if the constant practice of saying Istighfar had any effect on him. The baker responded by telling Imam that Allah had accepted all of his duas except one. When Imam asked him what dua was it that had not been accepted, the baker replied that he had been asking Allah to provide him the privilege to meet the famous scholar of the time Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal. On this Imam said that Allah had not only listened to his dua but had dragged him onto his ( the baker’s ) doorsteps.

With dua we can never fail and without it can never succeed .
It is human nature to yearn for happiness. A man strives all his life to attain happiness, usually he goes behind material things to find happiness like money, fame etc, but he never feels inner satisfaction and contentment. How does it come? How can we lead a happy life? This is a million dollar question these days. We do everything to attain happ- iness. We earn money som- etimes without knowing the difference between halal and haram. Some- times we forget our family and our responsibilities in this race but after a long time we come to realize that we are not happy and satisfied. Tension is a common word these days. Mostly you hear these sentences... I am having stress. How can I get rid of day to day problems bla bla bla. You will find both men and women talking about their worries and problems of life which create tension in their lives. How can we overcome this problem? In this connection every month we will discuss some ways which will be helpful to release tension and to make our lives happy.
1.ALWAYS REMEMBER ALLAH :
In this article we wrap up the things we have to do to gain tranquility of heart with the remembrance of Allah. First of all keep it in mind that the solutions of all our problems are in Quran.
In surah Al Baqarah Almighty Allah says;
“So remember Me; I will remember you, and be grateful to Me and do not deny Me"
(Ayah No. 152)
“Unquestionably, by the remem- brance of Allah hearts are assured.”
(Quran 13; 28)
When we talk about remembrance of Allah, it carries a vast meaning in itself. It includes abundant dhikr of Allah through dua, Prayers and recitation as well as to remember Allah in all our acts. Most af the Muslims are regular in their prayers, dhikr, and recitation no doubt it works but when it comes to our acts we forget Allah.
The prophet S.A.W (May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,
“Do not talk too much without remembering and mentioning Allah, for too much talk without mentioning Allah hardens the heart, and the person farthest from Allah is the one with a hard heart. (Tirmizi)
Our heart hardens when we do not remember Allah. How one can be happy and satisfied with a hard heart. The hearts nourishment is the remembrance of Allah and when we don’t remember him, it is no wonder that we feel down for no apparent reason. Remembrance of Allah includes some specified dhikrs such as Subhan Allah, Allah hu Akbar and Alhamdulillah .Always moist your tongue with these dhikrs. And what is the effect of this remembrance? it acts as a polish for the hearts from its rust and causes us to be remembered by Allah . What can be more honorable than being certain that our Lord remembers us?
Remember Allah in all your acts. Always try to be conscious in each and every act. There is nothing special you need to do for remembrance, only follow Quran and Sunnah. In short, you have to spend the life according to Quran. Remember! We all are in examination hall, to pass the exam it is necessary to follow the rules. In this way we will succeed in this world and hereafter. When Allah sees this slave obeying him why not he will remember him.
“Whoever comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed “
Makings duas, offering prayers and giving charity is usually our routine but do it with heart, feel it. Keep it in mind that all these acts keep a cure for your heart. Your sujood must be live. When help a needy think that it’s a treatment of our heart. As more your feeling will develop it will bring a positive change in your personality.
“Remember Allah in times of ease and He will remember you during the times of difficulty “
“And remember your Lord and exalt (Him with praise) in the evening and in the morning.”
We know that prophet (saw.)Always remembers Allah that’s why we have duas and dhikrs for almost everything in our lives. Morning prayer, evening prayer , dua when you get up , dua when you go to bed , dua before eating and after eating , dua if you are sick , dua when you go to outside . Practice all these duas in your lives and you will find miracles in your lives. Remember Allah while standing, sitting, eating, sleeping and lying definitely he will respond you. For all this yaqeen is so important. Which comes from inner of your heart.
This is the way He wants you and me to be successful in this world and hereafter. If you’ve a connection like this with Almighty, nothing in the world can bother you.
“And remembers Allah much, that you may be successful”.
Hazrat Abu hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The messenger of Allah Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the scales and are dear to the merciful.
Remember Allah while standing, sitting, eating, sleeping and lying, definitely. He will respond you. For all this yaqeen is so important which comes from inner of the heart. This is the way he wants you and me to be successful in this world and hereafter. If you’ve a connection like this with Almighty nothing in the world can bother you.
2. Being thankful to Allah “
“Therefore remember me, I will remember you, and be thankful to me and do not be ungrateful to me.”
Unfortunately, we Muslims have fallen into the trap of iblees and have gotten so caught up in our comings and goings that we very rarely take the time to reflect on the favors of Allah and to thank him with the thanks that is due him. We are so busy conducting our daily lives that we forget who is really in charge and from where our substance comes.
Most of the people think on the lines that if I only had that particular situation I would be grateful like if I had a large amount of money , if I had sons , if I had a big house , better job and the list goes on and on . We are constantly focused on the things we don’t have instead of being grateful to Allah for the things we do have.
“And he gives you all that you ask for but if you count the favors of Allah, never you will be able to number them. Verily, man is given up to injustice and ingratitude.” (Subhan Allah) (Quran 14:34)
If we start counting the favors of Allah it’s endless. the very fast that we wake up in the morning , offer salah , have food , have health , have homes , have everything in life , our families , our kids , these all are his favors . We should take none of it for granted or become arrogant enough to believe that we attained ant of it because of our own efforts alone.
Formula of happiness:
“And (remember) when your Lord Proclaimed, “if you are grateful, I will surely increase you (in favor), but if you deny, indeed, my punishment is severe.” (Quran 14:7)
In this Ayah, Allah tells us that if a slave is grateful, he has promised that he will increase the blessings that have been already given to him, but if the slave denies the blessings, the punishment from his Lord is severe. So if we wish to have more blessings and pleasures we should be thankful to Allah all time. While standing, while sitting our tongue should be wet with the praise of Allah and our hearts should be filled with his love.
Hazrat Ayesha (razi Allah anha) reported that: holy Prophet (peace be upon him) stayed up all the night in prayer, standing until his feet become swollen, when he was asked, “Why are you doing this, when Allah has forgiven all your past and future actions? He replied, “Should I not be grateful slave? (Subhan Allah)
Question is should we not follow his footsteps.
Why we should be grateful to Allah?
We have Quran in this world to guide us and Sunnah if we follow the footsteps of Holy prophet (peace be upon him) it leads us to jannah, without the Sunnah, we would have been lost and unable to determine if what we are doing is pleasing to Allah or not. The Sunnah saves us from this predicament.
Allah has left the door of repentance open for us for as long as we are alive. When we sincerely repents, Allah promises us in the Quran that all of our previous sins are changed into good deeds, what a gift repentance is, we must be grateful.
“And if you try to count the favors of Allah, you will not be able to number them. Surely, Allah is most forgiving, merciful.”(Quran 16:19)
Hoe to be thankful to Allah:
Probably the best way to thank Allah is to be aware of his presence and his power at all times and in all places and to keep in mind all the favors he has granted to us whether these favors are seen or unseen. For example some of the marvelous favors that he has bestowed upon us are Islam, iman, guidance and righteousness.
A good way to make Allah’s favors dearer to us is to look at those who are lacking them. When we see the patient in the bed, we realize Allah’s favor in giving us good health. When we breathe in air we should be thankful to him. It’s because of him that we are alive and he has given us energy to fulfill our duties. In return of all these favors we should establish prayers, fasts, hajj and good deeds. To guide those who are not in the path of Jannah is another way to say him thanks. When we witness the difficulties suffered by those who are blind, deaf and dumb, we came to realize the importance of our eyes, ears and tongues. All of these favors encourage us to thank Allah and use the blessings that he has given us in obedience to him and not in disobedience.
Allah says that only few of his servants thank him. Let us then strive to be among those few by keeping our tongues wet with his remembrance and our hearts soft with his praise.
